LE Macioche

About the Winery

Le Macioche is a jewel of a 6.5-hectare Brunello di Montalcino estate founded in the 1990s and now owned by the Cotarella family since 2017, where cousins Marta, Dominga, and Enrica manage operations. Located southeast of Montalcino at 450 meters elevation, the estate cultivates exclusively Sangiovese Grosso on clay, marl, and limestone soils, producing approximately 20,000 bottles of Brunello and Riserva aged in large Slavonian oak barrels, named after the strawberry trees (macioche in local dialect) that surround the property.
