De' Ricci Cantine Storiche
About the Winery
De' Ricci Cantine Storiche is one of Montepulciano's most historic and evocative wine cellars, housed in a Renaissance palazzo built in 1534 and accessed via a monumental staircase leading to an underground cathedral-like space with soaring brick cross vaults. The cellar, known as 'the most beautiful wine cellar in the world,' ages its acclaimed Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in enormous Slavonian oak barrels, where the constant temperature and humidity from the tuffaceous soil create ideal conditions for long-term maturation.
