About the Winery

Castell'in Villa is an iconic estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga founded in 1968 by Principessa Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa, spanning nearly 300 hectares with 54 hectares of southwest-exposed vineyards at among the highest points in the commune. The estate produces some of Chianti Classico's most age-worthy wines, including Chianti Classico, Riserva, and single-vineyard 'Poggio delle Rose,' all made from 100% Sangiovese fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in large Slavonian oak and chestnut botti, with current releases often held back for years to gain additional complexity.
