About the Winery
Casa Raia is an organic winery on a promontory below the medieval walls of Montalcino, founded in 2006 by Pierre Jean Monnoyer, producing Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, and IGT Toscana from vines originally planted by the Biondi-Santi family. The estate practices holistic farming and traditional pre-war winemaking methods, aging its Brunello for four years in 3,000-liter French oak botte and producing only about 1,500 bottles annually of this powerful, structured, and classical expression of Sangiovese Grosso.
