About the Winery

Canonica a Cerreto lies in the heart of Chianti Classico near Siena, with a history dating back to around 1000 A.D. when canons of Siena's cathedral built an abbey amid turkey oak forests. Today the 60-hectare estate includes 21 hectares of vineyard and 7 of olive groves, producing organic Chianti Classico wines from Sangiovese grown at elevations around 1,250 feet on limestone and clay soils.
