About the Winery
Amiata Azienda Agricola, also known as Amiata I Vini del Vulcano, is a small estate in Montegiovi, Castel del Piano, on the slopes of Monte Amiata in the Montecucco DOCG area. Run by Simone and Stefania Toninelli, the 10-hectare estate produces approximately 10,000-12,000 bottles annually of single-varietal Sangiovese wines including IGT Lapillo, DOCG Lavico, and DOCG Cenere, from vineyards at 400-500 meters on lava soils with hand-harvested grapes.
