About the Winery

Founded in 1860 in Medana, Slovenia’s Goriška Brda region, Marjan Simčič Domaine is now led by the fifth-generation winemaker Marjan Simčič, who oversees 16 hectares in Slovenia and 9 hectares in Italy on privileged sites with Opoka soils of marl and sandstone. The estate produces three distinct lines—Brda Classic, CRU Selection, and the prestigious OPOKA CRU—with organic, low-yield farming and hand-harvested grapes that yield elegant, mineral-driven wines recognized as benchmarks of Slovenian viticulture.
