Grof
About the Winery
The Grof estate spans 10 hectares of flysch terraces on the southern slopes of the Vipava Hills in the medieval village of Šmarje, western Slovenia, a property owned since 1574 by the family of Austro-Hungarian Count Ivan Cobenzl. Combining centuries of heritage with modern, environmentally friendly viticulture, Grof produces fresh and structurally rich wines from indigenous varieties including the rare Poljšakica, reflecting a unique terroir where Mediterranean and continental climates intersect.
