About the Winery
Monterosso is an estate on Mount Etna's southeastern slopes near Zafferana Etnea, founded by three friends—Aurelio Marconi, Giovanni Ferlito, and Gianluca Strano—who restored century-old ungrafted vineyards on the volcanic cone of Monte Rosso at 600 meters. The estate practices organic farming of indigenous Carricante and Nerello Mascalese, with the pozzolan soils formed during Etna's 1329 eruption giving the wines intense character and unique minerality.
