About the Winery

In Mamoiada, a small village in the Barbagia region of central Sardinia, brothers Giorgio and Piercarlo Gaia organically farm 5 hectares of vineyards at altitudes between 650 and 850 meters, producing wines that express the unique terroir of this high-altitude Cannonau heartland. Their Vinzas Artas label includes Granatza (a rare indigenous white variety) and single-vineyard Cannonau reds such as Ghirada Garaunele 1920, all crafted from low-yielding vines that capture the granitic soils, Mediterranean scrub, and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts of the Mamoiada landscape.
