About the Winery

Azienda Agraria Paolo Petrilli is a certified organic estate founded in 1990 in Lucera, in the Daunia region of northern Puglia, though the Petrilli family's agricultural roots on the Motticella hill date back centuries. The 11-hectare vineyard, planted in 1998 and 2002 with Nero di Troia, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Aglianico, and Bombino Bianco on stony calcareous soil, produces approximately 40,000 bottles annually using indigenous yeasts and natural winemaking methods, and is also renowned for growing some of Italy's finest organic heirloom tomatoes.
