About the Winery
Ciabot Berton is a historic family estate in La Morra, with the Oberto family's bond to the Barolo hills beginning in 1876 when great-great-grandmother Maria purchased their first vineyard in the Rive cru. Now in its fifth generation, with Marco Oberto as winemaker and Paola as agronomist, the 14-hectare estate produces elegant Barolo wines from prestigious La Morra crus including Roggeri, Rocchettevino, and Bricco San Biagio, alongside Barbera d'Alba and Dolcetto d'Alba, with the winery's name derived from a small building ('ciabot') that once belonged to a certain Berton who accidentally caused a fire while making fireworks.
