About the Winery
Castello di Tassarolo is a historic biodynamic estate in Tassarolo, in the heart of the Gavi DOCG zone, where the Spinola family has made wine since the 14th century. Now run by Massimiliana Spinola, the 17-hectare estate is certified organic and biodynamic, producing Gavi DOCG from 100% Cortese grown on marl and silty-clay soils at 300 meters, with vineyards worked by heavy horses and wines crafted without added sulfites using indigenous yeasts, including the celebrated 'Orsola' Gavi named after an ancestor painted by Andy Warhol.
