About the Winery
Cascina Val del Prete was founded in 1977 in Priocca, Roero, when Bartolomeo Roagna purchased the estate after working as a sharecropper for the de Grèsy family. Today, Mario Roagna and his son Giovanni manage 10 certified organic and biodynamic hectares planted to Arneis, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. Their non-interventionist approach uses indigenous yeasts, long macerations of 25-30 days, and aging from a few months for early-drinking wines up to three years for Roero Riserva, producing classic expressions of this ancient land.
