About the Winery
La Ponca is an estate in Scriò di Dolegna del Collio, acquired in 2021 by Alex Maccan at the highest point of the Collio region at the foot of Mount Korada. Across 12 hectares of vineyards surrounded by 45 hectares of forest, the estate practices organic farming on six plots between 180 and 320 meters altitude, cultivating Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia, Friulano, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Schioppettino on the distinctive marl-and-sandstone 'ponca' soils that give the wines their characteristic salinity.
