About the Winery
Azienda Agricola Cocciacavallo & Cardogneto is a small family-run estate in the hills of Irpinia near Pratola Serra, at about 450 meters above sea level, founded by a family whose grandfather was nicknamed 'Cocciacavallo' for his stubbornness. The estate produces Fiano di Avellino and Aglianico using sustainable agriculture without herbicides or chemical fertilizers, with natural fermentation using indigenous yeasts and minimal sulfur, continuing a tradition of honest, terroir-driven winemaking that dates back to the early twentieth century.
