Cantine Vitematta
About the Winery
Cantine Vitematta is a remarkable social enterprise in Casal di Principe, born in 2009 from the Eureka Cooperative, which cultivates vineyards on land confiscated from organized crime. The cooperative provides jobs and training for people with learning disabilities and the formerly incarcerated, producing wines primarily from the ancient Asprinio grape grown on heroic 'alberata' vines that climb up to 12 meters high on poplar trees, preserving a centuries-old Etruscan viticultural tradition while fostering social inclusion and community renewal.
