About the Winery
Di Carlo Vini is the historic winemaking operation of the Di Carlo family in Villa Caldari, Ortona, Chieti, Abruzzo, who have been wine producers since the early 19th century and who are the founders of Cantine Agriverde, one of the first certified organic wineries in Italy. The family manages 75 hectares of vineyards and produces wines under the Vigna Madre label from indigenous varieties including Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina, and Cococciola, with Giannicola Di Carlo being a pioneer of organic viticulture in Abruzzo since the 1990s.
