About the Winery
Contesa is an estate winery in Collecorvino, Pescara, Abruzzo, owned by Rocco Pasetti, whose 50 hectares of vineyards lie in the heart of the Collecorvino district in the hills northwest of Pescara at 250 meters above sea level on clay-chalk soils. The estate produces acclaimed wines from indigenous varieties including Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Pecorino, Cerasuolo, and Trebbiano, with their Montepulciano d'Abruzzo aged in 30-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels for 12 months, earning recognition for its unusual complexity combining dark bramble fruit with spicy oak.
