Casal Thaulero
About the Winery
Casal Thaulero is a historic cooperative winery in Ortona, Chieti, Abruzzo, founded in 1961 and named after the noble Thaulero family who pioneered viticulture in the region in the 16th century, and was the first Abruzzi cooperative to bottle and export DOC wines to NAFTA countries in 1968. Today the cooperative brings together hundreds of member growers cultivating approximately 2,000 hectares of vineyards, producing wines from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Cerasuolo, and Passerina across multiple quality tiers including the prestigious Thale and Duca Thaulero lines.
