About the Winery
Biondi-Santi is one of the world's most iconic wineries, located at Tenuta Greppo in Montalcino, Toscana, founded in 1888 when Ferruccio Biondi Santi created the first Brunello di Montalcino—a revolutionary single-variety wine modeled after Barolo. The 150-hectare estate (of which only 26 are vineyards) sits on a high ridge southeast of Montalcino at elevations up to 500 meters, with the historic Il Greppo vineyard containing vines dating back to the 1930s on prized galestro soils, producing Brunello that is renowned for its perfect elegance, restrained power, and extraordinary aging potential.
