About the Winery
Tenuta di Artimino is a historic 732-hectare estate in Carmignano, Toscana, with 80 hectares of vineyards planted to Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and other noble varieties, producing Carmignano DOCG and Chianti DOCG wines with roots tracing back to the Etruscan age and the Medici family. The estate includes the magnificent Villa Medicea 'La Ferdinanda,' built in 1596 under Grand Duke Ferdinando I de' Medici and designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2013, where Cosimo III's historic 1716 edict first recognized Carmignano among the world's most important wines.
