About the Winery
Tarlao is a family-owned winery in Aquileia, one of Friuli's smallest but historically richest DOC zones dating back to Roman times, run by Francesco Tarlao who combines solid peasant tradition with cutting-edge winemaking knowledge gained from experience in Argentina and the United States. The estate's 7 hectares of vineyards produce approximately 37,000 bottles annually from indigenous varieties including Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, and Refosco, alongside Pinot Bianco, in a mild, breezy terroir influenced by the nearby Adriatic Sea and framed by the Tagliamento and Isonzo rivers.
