About the Winery
La Nascosta is a modern winery in Castiglione d'Orcia, Toscana, founded by the Mastrojanni family in 2011 in the heart of Val d'Orcia, crafting wines from Sangiovese as well as innovative white wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, and Gewurztraminer. Named 'The Hidden' because the cellar is embedded in the hillside and invisible from the village, the estate spans 52 hectares at approximately 400 meters altitude near the extinct Monte Amiata volcano, producing acclaimed wines including the Saltamacchia Orcia DOC and Giovesone pure Sangiovese.
