About the Winery
Poggio di Bortolone is a historic family winery in Chiaramonte Gulfi, in the Hyblaean Mountains of southeastern Sicily, founded by the Cosenza family at the end of the 18th century shortly after Sicily's transition out of feudalism. The estate spans 60 acres of lush vineyards and olive groves along the Para Para River, producing Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG, Frappato, and Nero d'Avola from 15 hectares of vines, achieving DOCG status in 2005 under the leadership of Pierluigi Cosenza.
