Murgo
About the Winery
Murgo is a historic winery on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna in Santa Venerina, founded in 1981 by Baron Emanuele Scammacca del Murgo, with vineyards first documented on the property in the 1860s. The family-run estate farms approximately 30 hectares of sustainably cultivated vineyards at 500 meters above sea level, producing Etna DOC wines from indigenous varieties including Nerello Mascalese, Carricante, and Catarratto alongside renowned traditional-method sparkling wines.
