About the Winery

Murgo (Scammacca del Murgo) is a historic winery on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, founded in 1981 when Baron Emanuele Scammacca del Murgo returned to his ancestral land after a diplomatic career. The estate cultivates approximately 30 hectares of vineyards at 500 meters above sea level on volcanic soils, producing Etna DOC wines from indigenous varieties including Nerello Mascalese, Carricante, and Catarratto, along with acclaimed traditional-method sparkling wines.
