About the Winery
Montevertine is a legendary estate in Radda in Chianti, founded in 1967 by Sergio Manetti and renowned for producing some of Italy's greatest pure Sangiovese wines including the iconic 'Le Pergole Torte.' The 18-hectare property left the Chianti Classico consortium in 1981 over the requirement to include white grapes, and today under Martino Manetti crafts three wines—Le Pergole Torte, Montevertine, and Pian del Ciampolo—from 90% Sangiovese plus Canaiolo and Colorino on calcareous soils at 425 meters elevation.
