About the Winery
Montesommavesuvio is a winery founded in 2000 in Pollena Trocchia on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius within the Vesuvius National Park, specializing in wines from indigenous Vesuvian grape varieties including Catalanesca, Caprettone, and Piedirosso. Professor Giuseppe Campanile and his son Nicola have gained international recognition for their classic method sparkling wine CATALA 36, made from Catalanesca and aged 36 months on the lees, as well as their Lacryma Christi and other volcanic wines from 4.5 hectares of southwest-facing vineyards up to 400 meters above sea level.
