About the Winery

Cantine Moio, founded in the early 1900s in Mondragone by a branch of the Moio family, has been led since the post-war period by Commendatore Michele Moio, who is credited as the modern father of Falerno del Massico for reintroducing this ancient Roman wine to enthusiasts beginning in the 1950s. The estate produces wines from Primitivo and other local varieties in the historic Ager Falernus between the Volturno River and Mount Massico, continuing a legacy that has earned international acclaim for this once-lost wine of the Roman Empire.
