About the Winery
Monteraponi is an organic-certified estate in the heart of Chianti Classico near Radda, set within a medieval village that once belonged to Baron Ugo, Marchese of Tuscany in the 10th century. Under Michele Braganti since 1998, the 200-hectare property cultivates 12 hectares of vineyards predominantly planted to Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino on steep hillsides of galestro and alberese at elevations up to 570 meters, producing acclaimed wines including the single-vineyard Baron'Ugo IGT and Chianti Classico Riserva Il Campitello through traditional cement-tank fermentation and extended aging in large oak casks.
