Massimiliano Calabretta
About the Winery
Massimiliano Calabretta (Azienda Vinicola Calabretta) is a traditionalist, family-run estate on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Solicchiata, with roots dating back to around 1900. The fourth-generation winery, launched in 1997, manages roughly 13 hectares of certified organic vineyards including ungrafted, pre-phylloxera Nerello Mascalese vines, aging their flagship Vigne Vecchie for six to seven years in large Slavonian oak botti in the style of traditional Barolo.
