About the Winery
La Carraia is a modern winery located in the rolling hills of the Orvieto region in Umbria, founded in 1988 by Odoardo Gialetti and world-renowned enologist Riccardo Cotarella, now managing five estates across the heart of Orvieto. With 145 hectares in the oldest DOC Orvieto district, the winery produces a diverse portfolio including Orvieto Classico, Grechetto, and blended reds based on Sangiovese, with a philosophy that combines modern techniques with respect for the terroir to create wines that maintain the character of the Umbrian hills.
