About the Winery
Josko Gravner, based in Oslavia in Friuli's Collio region, is the pioneering force behind the modern amber and orange wine movement, having transformed his family winery by adopting Georgian qvevri for fermentation starting in 2001. The 32-hectare estate, with 15 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines across three parcels including some in Slovenia, now produces exclusively Ribolla Gialla and Pignolo wines that ferment and macerate for months in 47 buried Georgian clay vessels before six years in large Slavonian oak, with a total minimum seven-year production cycle before release.
