About the Winery
Valter Mattoni, nicknamed 'Roccia,' founded his eponymous winery in Castorano, Ascoli Piceno, in 2000, continuing a family tradition of winemaking passed down from his grandfathers and father. On approximately 5 hectares of clay and alluvial soils at 200-300 meters elevation, he produces around 7,000 bottles annually of characterful wines including the flagship Arshura Montepulciano, using spontaneous fermentation and French oak barriques, earning recognition from Slow Wine and Gambero Rosso.
