About the Winery
Il Greppo is the historic estate of Biondi-Santi, founded in 1840 and credited with creating Brunello di Montalcino in 1888 when Ferruccio Biondi Santi first vinified 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Located southeast of Montalcino at 350 meters altitude, the 150-hectare estate with 25 hectares of vines produces some of Italy's most legendary and long-lived wines, including the iconic Brunello Riserva made only in exceptional vintages.
