About the Winery

Giorgio Gianatti, known as 'L'uomo del Grumello' (the man of Grumello), is a tiny family-run winery in Montagna in Valtellina that he has managed since 1983 when he took over at age 21 and began bottling under his own label. Farming just 2-2.5 hectares of steep terraced vineyards in the Grumello subzone at 450-600 meters with organic practices, he produces pristine, pure expressions of Nebbiolo that have earned him recognition as one of Valtellina's most dedicated artisan vigneron.
