Etna Barrus
About the Winery
Etna Barrus is an organic winery on Etna's southeastern slopes in Trecastagni, founded by four friends, Salvo, Toti, Mario, and Giuseppe, who planted their 2.7-hectare vineyard in 2005 below the extinct Monte Gorna cone. Named after Catania's elephant symbol combined with Etna volcano, they cultivate massale selections of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio at 600 meters on sandy volcanic soils, producing around 7,500 bottles of Etna Rosso and Rosato annually.
