About the Winery
La Monacesca is a historic winery founded in 1966 by Casimiro Cifola in Matelica, in the heart of the Verdicchio di Matelica DOC of Marche, with vineyards at approximately 400 meters altitude. Today directed by Aldo Cifola, the estate has grown to over 19 hectares, producing acclaimed Verdicchio di Matelica wines including the flagship 'Mirum' Riserva DOCG, aged extensively on lees in stainless steel. Their wines have earned consistent international recognition, with the Mirum Riserva receiving accolades from Wine Spectator, Vinous, and James Suckling for its extraordinary complexity and aging potential.
