About the Winery

Barone di Pianogrillo is an organic estate on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna in the town of Trecastagni, with vineyards planted at altitudes between 600 and 700 meters above sea level. The property has been in the family for over three centuries, and they produce Etna DOC wines from indigenous varieties including Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Carricante that express the freshness and minerality of Etna's volcanic terroir.
