About the Winery
Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio is a family-run estate in Mercatello di Marsciano, Umbria, centered around a castle that has been the ancestral home of the noble Fasola Bologna family since 1892, with 40 hectares of vineyards producing wines from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Grechetto, Trebbiano, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. The estate was the first in the world to achieve zero CO2 emissions certification in 2009 through its pioneering 360° Green Evolution project, championing indigenous varieties while combining sustainable viticulture with award-winning wines and cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil.
