About the Winery

Cappellano is one of Piemonte's most revered and uncompromising Barolo producers, founded in 1870 by Filippo Cappellano in Serralunga d'Alba and now in its fifth generation under Augusto Cappellano, farming four hectares in the prestigious Gabutti cru. The estate produces just two Barolos from the same vineyard, Otin Fiorin Pie Rupestris and Otin Fiorin Pie Franco, along with the legendary Barolo Chinato made from the family's secret recipe, with organic farming, indigenous yeasts, no filtration, and a steadfast refusal to submit wines for scoring.
