About the Winery

Cantine Gemma is a historic Barolo estate founded in 1978 in Serralunga d'Alba, Piemonte, by Silvano Piacentini, now led by his son Luigi Piacentini and consulting winemaker Giorgio Barbero, farming approximately 26 hectares across prime sites in Monforte d'Alba, Alba, and Serralunga. The estate produces Barolo, Barolo Riserva Giblin, Barbaresco, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and the rare Verdiana from an old Rossese vineyard, with a modern cellar featuring photovoltaic and geothermal systems achieving zero carbon emissions.
