About the Winery
Cantine Sant'Agata, run by the Cavallero family in Scurzolengo in the Asti province of Piemonte, has been making wine for over a century on the hills of Monferrato Astigiano, with a focus on the rare indigenous Ruché grape and Barbera. Founded by Giuseppe Cavallero, who recognized Ruché's potential in the 1970s, the estate today produces Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, Barbera d'Asti, Barolo, and an acclaimed line of vermouths, spirits, and gin under the leadership of Franco Cavallero, president of the Ruché producers association.
