About the Winery
Gancia is Italy's oldest sparkling wine house, founded in 1850 in Chivasso, Piemonte, by brothers Carlo and Edoardo Gancia, with Carlo creating Italy's first sparkling wine made by the classic method in 1865 after studying Champagne production in Reims, France. Now headquartered in Canelli with historic Underground Cathedrals recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gancia produces Alta Langa DOCG, Asti DOCG, Prosecco, Brachetto d'Acqui, and its renowned line of vermouths and aperitifs, with distribution to over 65 countries.
