About the Winery
G.D. Vajra is one of the great Barolo addresses, founded in 1947 in Vergne, the highest village in the Barolo DOCG at 497 meters above sea level, and now run by Aldo Vajra, his wife Milena, and their children. The estate farms approximately 40 hectares, including 10 in Barolo across the legendary Bricco Viole and other prime sites, plus the Luigi Baudana estate in Serralunga, and was the first certified organic winery in Barolo back in 1971, producing a range of 19 wines including Barolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Riesling, Pinot Nero, and Metodo Classico.
