About the Winery
Bigi is one of the most historic and prestigious wineries in Orvieto, Umbria, founded in the 1800s and operating from a former Franciscan monastery before moving to modern cellars in Ponte Giulio in 1972, with 145 hectares of vineyards located in the oldest DOC Orvieto district on hilly terrain between 150 and 450 meters. The winery is particularly renowned for its Orvieto Classico whites, including the celebrated Est! Est!! Est!!!, and has expanded its portfolio to include monovarietal and blended reds based on Sangiovese, Grechetto, and other indigenous varieties, combining centuries of tradition with modern winemaking expertise.
