About the Winery

Founded in 1994 by the Loreti family to continue a winemaking tradition dating back to 1881, Cantina del Tufaio is nestled in the Zagarolo DOC area between the Castelli Romani and Monti Prenestini on volcanic soils that lend a marked minerality to its wines. The estate is particularly renowned for its Tufaio Pas Dosè sparkling wine, produced using the classic method and aged in a dramatic 16-meter-deep tuff cave hand-carved into the rock beneath the winery.
