About the Winery
Elio Grasso is a celebrated estate in Monforte d'Alba, in the Ginestra MGA of the Barolo zone in Piemonte, founded in 1978 when Elio Grasso left his career as a banker in Turin to transform his family's farm into an estate-bottled winery from their 18 hectares of vineyards. Today Elio's son Gianluca crafts three distinctive single-vineyard Barolos from Gavarini Chiniera, Ginestra Casa Matè, and the Riserva Rüncot, along with Barbera, Dolcetto, and Chardonnay, aging the wines in large Slavonian oak botti with a philosophy that balances tradition and innovation.
