About the Winery

Villa Canestrari is a historic winery in the Illasi Valley, east of Verona, where the limestone terrain of Valpolicella overlaps with the volcanic soil of Soave, allowing production of both wine types. Founded in 1888 when Carlo Bonuzzi graduated from the Royal School of Winemaking at Conegliano, the estate now spans 20 hectares across four generations, producing Amarone, Ripasso, Soave DOC, and Soave Superiore DOCG, with a Wine Museum showcasing over a century of winemaking history.
